John Buck

American, b. 1946

An artist from the very beginning, Buck received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1968. He went on to study at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture until 1971, after which he pursued his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Davis, completing it in 1972. While studying at UC Davis, Buck met his wife, a fellow artist, Deborah Butterfield. Together the couple work out of Bozeman, Montana, and the Big Island of Hawaii, where their studio is located.
